Afrocat is a DJ/Selector, Radio Host, Producer, Activist & Entrepreneur.
She has an international career of 22 years and counting, DJ'ing in the UK, USA, Brasil, Dubai, Portugal, Italy & Austria, and spinning an impressive collection, with a particular focus on 70’s styles, production and vibes, with a shot of Studio54.
She is a connoisseur of heavy basslines and badass beats, and delights in sharing only the finest international sounds including deep funk, dancefloor jazz, vintage reggae, dub, disco, blues, Afro-Latino rhythms, and 70’s soundtracks, psychedelic grooves, and obscura.
Afrocat trained in sound engineering at Mute Records, London, and produces her own original music fusing dub, jazz & hip-hop, with her own lyrics and vocals.
She can’t get enough of her favourite frequencies, and also plays bass.
As well as a residency on Aaja Radio, Afrocat hosts her show, Blaxploitation Lounge, monthly on Threads Radio and Slack City.
She loves playing live in festivals, clubs, and events, lifting the vibration, creating beautiful energy, and spreading some love.
Afrocat has a passion for activism, social change-making, and has launched her own herbal smoking blend, I-tal Smoke.
